Its becoming expected these days to send out ‘save the dates’, they will certainly help to ensure all your important guests can attend your wedding. It also gives people some notice to book time off work, or save up if it’s a destination wedding!

When should we send them?

Save the dates should be sent out 4-6 months before the wedding (6-8 months if it’s a destination wedding). The formal wedding invitations usually get sent 8 weeks before the wedding.

Can we email them?

What information should we include?

Just the basics at this point so your names, the date and location.
It’s also good to include a bit at the bottom which says ‘formal invitation to follow’ so that people know that more information will be sent at a later date.
